Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How many games will we play?

All clubs will play a minimum of four games in the first week of round robin matches. The group ladder leaders will progress to the finals in the second week.

Will we be playing against teams of any level?

No, the ACCC is divided into four tiers, so all teams are competing against others of a similar standard.

How much will it cost me?

Costs will depend on where you are travelling from and the level of accommodation your club prefers. See costs for more information.

How can my club be invited?

For 2021, clubs in selected associations that qualify for the premier and metro tiers, will be sent an invitation to participate, because of a cap on the number of clubs to participate, only clubs that response before the cap is reached can play. Due to the short notice not all clubs invited will be able to accept. These invitations will be offered to clubs who complete an Expression of Interest  on the registration page. There is a cap on the number of teams to participate so register as quick as you can.

From 2023, The clubs in the premier and the metro tiers will be chosen randomly from the selected associations at this level. Only one club for each association can participate in each tournament. Places in the open and country tiers will be decided via a lottery. Once your association registers for the lottery (which you should encourage your association to do), all clubs in that competition will be entered. Clubs can still register individually on the registration Expression of Interest page and increase a club’s chances of winning the lottery.

What grounds will we play on?

All games will be played on first-class and international grounds, and all teams will play at least one game on an international ground.

What do I need to bring?

Other than what you would usually bring to a tropical destination, you only need to bring your kit bag and whites. Remember you will be playing on turf wickets, so you may require spiked footwear.

Do we get time to see Sri Lanka?

Teams will play every second day for the first week, and will continue to play every second day through the finals if they keep winning. So even if your club makes it all the way to the grand final, you will still have time to explore Sri Lanka. If your club doesn’t make the finals, then we will have a range of discounted tours to suit all tastes though out Sri Lanka. One of the reasons for the ACCC being played in Sri Lanka is because of what this spectacular country has to offer.
